High & Low: Austin’s most and least expensive home sales this week

From south to north, literally

Friday means it’s time for the High & the Low, a Curbed column chronicling the most and least expensive homes sold in Austin in the last seven days. So who got what this week, and how much (or little) did they get it for?

A newly built contemporary nabbed the honor of top home sale for the week in Austin. A sleek, modern two-story home in Travis Heights, it has four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. The home measures 2,874 square feet and includes a detached studio/guest quarters with a full bathroom.

Designed by celebrated local firm Moore-Tate, the home has warm wood accents, luxury finishes, floor-to-ceiling windows, wood floors throughout, stainless appliances, and a dramatic great room for entertaining.

The conveniently located South Austin home, near Big Stacy park and pool, was listed for $1.25 million on July 16 and sold for $1.2 million on October 11.

At the other end of the spectrum, we have a condominium on East Yager Lane in Far North Austin. Located in a complex built in 1984, the home has two bedrooms and two bathrooms an measures 1,004 square feet, with one bedroom downstairs. It also has vaulted ceilings, laminate and tile flooring, a sprinkler system, a gated back yard, and storage. There are two designated parking spots and access to a community pool.

The home was listed for $140,000 on August 27 and sold for that asking price on October 12.
