Midcentury modern revamped, on market for $2.4M

New, 3 comments

Original design by local luminary Charles Granger

Although this midcentury modern home was designed by Charles Granger of Austin’s legendary Fehr & Granger architecture firm, it was completely renovated in 2006. While you’d be hard-pressed to identify many original features of the home, it does retain the attention paid to setting, showcasing the surrounding foliage and even the pool through copious windows and glass doors.

It’s also located in Highland Park West, where many of Austin’s remaining midcentury modern homes are located. Tucked away down a secluded drive on .65 acres, the two-story home was originally built in 1963.

At 7,008 square feet, It has five bathrooms and two-half bathrooms, including a huge master with double baths and separate dressing areas and built-ins.

The Balcones Park house features white oak hardwoods and three large, sun-lit living areas with floor-to-ceiling windows, updated kitchen, a fireplace, and multiple patios and balconies, along with landscape lighting and the aforementioned pool.
