Own Ann Richards' mod former home for $1.2M

1949 West Campus two-story retains many original features

Well, this is exciting. According to erstwhile modernism enthusiast and real estate pro Creede Fitch, the former homeof Ann Richards (pictured here) was just listed on the market, and most of the original features and design seem to be intact.

In and of itself, it doesn't necessarily all that much, design-wise, but it was built in 1949 and does indeed contain some nice features of the early modern era, including big, unfussy windows and lots of natural light. Measuring 3,036 square feet, it also features big expanses of living space with hardwood floors, Saltillo tile, original-looking built-ins, two fireplaces, and a basement. Located on of the western edge of West University/West Campus, where student housing gives way to many large, older, single-family homes, the house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The beloved former guv's old home is located on a .384-acre lot overlooking the treetops and Caswell Tennis Courts and has many outdoor living spaces, including patios, a deck, and a screened-in porch with hot tub. Over-sized covered parking for RV/boat.
