More new condos rising in East Austin

Tyndall at Roberston Hill breaks ground behind French Legation

A six-story condominium building slated for the western edge of Central East Austin’s Guadalupe neighborhood has broken ground. The 171,000-square-foot Tyndall at Robertson Hill complex will occupy the entire block bordered by IH-35, Embassy Drive, and East Eighth and Ninth streets—save the storied Lopez House that overlooks the highway from East Ninth Street, which will remain in place.

Local firm Momark is developer for the six-story Tyndall, which will back to the grounds of the historic French Legation on its east and border La Vista de Guadalupe, a 100% affordable, multifamily housing complex, on the north.

The 176-unit condo building, topping at 70 feet, will offer what its publicity terms “alternative” views of the city (some currently available from the Legation grounds), including a pool overlooking downtown.

Designed by Dallas-based Humphreys & Partners Architects, the Tyndall will offer one- and two-bedroom units (some with bonus rooms) measuring 571 to 1,736 square feet and asking $260,000 to more than $850,000. Amenities include a yoga lawn, a (hopefully separate) dog run and pet-washing station, car-charging stations, a coffee shop, a grotto, and other luxury features.
