Remodel in historic Hancock asks $749K

1946 home with guest cottage

A large open-plan kitchen and dining space with contemporary but mostly traditional furnishings and lots of light blue accents

Open-plan fans, this one’s for you.

It’s hard to tell, especially from the inside, that this home in the historic central city Hancock neighborhood on the edge of Hyde Park was building in 1946.

That’s not necessarily a bad thing, as this one-story home has been remodeled in a way that many contemporary buyers prefer, combining kitchen, dining, and living rooms into one big, open area. (Plus, we don’t know what it looked like before.)

The 2,099-square-foot house has four bedrooms and three bedrooms and features wood floors and new appliances.

There’s also a one-bedroom, one-bathroom guest cottage (or potential rental, one supposes) behind the main house, as well as a large, private lot with native landscaping.
