Data analytics site NeighborhoodX is conducting an ongoing study of affordability in major U.S. cities. As part of this study, it examined the most affordable properties on the market in each neighborhood of those cities.
Today’s analysis is of the North Loop neighborhood, bordered by North Lamar Boulevard on the west, Airport Boulevard on the east, West Koenig Lane on the north, and 51st Street on the south.
The study excludes studios, since they tend not to be viable as long-term residences, as well as properties that cannot be purchased with conventional financing, such as affordable/age-restricted housing, and certain listings with incomplete or contradictory information.
The 10 most affordable properties in the neighborhood range from $299,000 to $449,000. The most affordable is 5508 Avenue H, Unit B, while the most expensive of the most affordable is 5210 Duval Street.
On a per-square-foot basis, the prices range from $256 to $516/square foot.
