Transformed Tarrytown cottage asks $900K

For a long while, it seemed we had a glut of gray-to-dark-gray-to-almost-black homes on the market. While that look is cool and dramatic, the (seemingly) new trend—white houses with black/dark trim—certainly makes more sense for the climate.

The case before us involves a classic Tarrytown cottage that’s had a major renovation. The original 1948 has been updated but retains its hardwood floors and general feel of its period.

The one-story main home has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, including a new master bath with soaking tub and separate shower.

There’s a modern, two-story guest house/addition in back that, despite its distinct style, looks like it blends well with the original. It has one bedroom, one bathroom, and an office space. Altogether, there’s 2,837 square feet of home with a tony Tarrytown address.
