University of Texas students stocking up on dorm-room supplies will no longer have to trek up to Capital Plaza (or send their sherpas Favor for them). The retail giant will be opening a 22,000-square-foot store in Dobie Twenty21 (formerly Dobie Mall) at West 21st Street and Guadalupe streets, the Austin American-Statesman reported Thursday.

The paper reported that the Dobie building (once home to the film arthouse where Slacker debuted and then ran for a year straight and has served as an informal student gathering place for decades) is undergoing many renovations, including those necessary for the Target store.

Set to open in 2017, the campus Target will be smaller than most of the company’s Austin-area stores and will sell an assortment of groceries, dorm and apartment wares, and other student-focused items.
