The West Campus neighborhood adjacent to the University of Texas is about to get another high-rise. Aspen Heights Partners, the developer that is bringing us the Independent and Rise buildings, announced Wednesday that it is developing a student housing high rise at 1909 Rio Grande Street, where it looks like there are, or were, a couple of small, single-family homes.
The 17-story building, dubbed Aspen West Campus, will stand 17 stories tall. Its 166 units range from efficiencies to five-bedroom floor plans. The building will also feature a sixth-floor amenity terrace with a fitness center, game lounge, study lounge, and pool area with grills overlooking the University of Texas campus.
Aspen Heights, which is partnering with China Grand Fund for the West Campus project, counts student housing as one of its specialties and has 31 off-campus under its belt, with more to come.
Construction on Aspen West Campus began in September and is expected to be completed by fall of 2018.
