A remodel that's true to its house's origins but not so faithful as to seem like a time capsule is a rare thing. Alterstudio Architects did an excellent job of walking that line for this three-bedroom South Austin home, built in 1951. Elegant updates throughout complement original wood floors and other elements, including private outdoor spaces under heritage oaks. With its original footprint and unfussy curb appeal, it's a refreshing, subtle redo, perfect for a classic neighborhood.
