Austin Rent Comparisons: What $2,700 Gets You

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various Austin neighborhoods. Is one person's studio another person's townhouse? Let's find out! Today's price: $2,500.

↑ 51 Rainey Street, $2,625: Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, 1,029 square feet in the middle of the action Rainey is known for, the SkyHouse looks to have the luxuries you'd expect, the most important of these in that area being parking. Plus a rooftop deck with river and downtown views and fire pit. Cats and small dogs allowed.

↑ 1005 Banyon Street, $2,650: A three bedroom, two-and-a-half bath house in Crestview, this place is updated and has homey amenities like a two-car garage, washer-dryer unit, and a backyard. It's tucked between two larger buildings, which makes it look kind of precious, maybe to compensate. Fenced yard, but no word on pets.

↑ 409 West 38th Street: $2,600: With four bedrooms and one bathroom, this apartment looks to pack a lot of people—most likely students—into its 1,200 square feet. The pet policy is not included in the listing.

↑ 2703 Little John Lane, $2,700: A house in 78704 with three bedrooms and two bathrooms seems likes a pretty good deal. It's a classic 1961 ranch with updates, close to St. Ed's in Sherwood Oaks. Pets negotiable.
