The City of Hutto Is Getting Its First Grocery Store

It's an HEB, of course

As Austin spilleth over, so do its grocery riches. The Austin Business Journal reports today that San Antonio grocery chain HEB will build a new store in Hutto, which is located east of Round Rock and booming almost as much.

According to the Journal, the full-service, 121,000-square-foot store will be built in a retail development at 5000 Gattis School Road, near SH 13O.

The HEB will be Hutto's first grocery store inside city limits, reports KXAN, which adds that the town could be considered a food desert currently. Approximately 20,000 people live in the city.

The store will be part of 36-acre development called the Star Ranch Master Plan, created through agreements among the city of Hutto, HEB, and Tack Development, KXAN reports. The new store is expected to open fall 2016
