Original list price: $1,384,000: This Long Canyon property seems to aspire to Italianate splendor, and it makes some headway in that area, especially in the hand-carved wooden bar and master bath, for which the answer to every decorating question seems to have been "marble." four bedrooms, five and a half baths, 5,093 square feet.

4229 Verano Drive, $1,325,000. Original list price: $1,475,000: Another new traditional, this one in the Barton Creek neighborhood, boasts four bedrooms and 3 and a half baths in 4,119 square feet, as well as three living areas, a media room with projector, and outdoor entertaining area.

7704 Stoneywood Drive, $973,000. Original list price: $975,000: The only listing here that cost under $1 million, this Northwest Hills house is unremarkable but in good shape and looks to be well-updated. Four bedrooms, two and a half baths, 3,906 square feet.
