Take the High Road to This $2.59M Home in the Sky

An Onion Creek contemporary that's all glass, light, and views

The address of this clifftop aerie is, literally, on The High Road, so the jokes would surely get old fast (okay, they already have). Watching the sunset from the roomy porch or one of its glass-walled rooms, though, would probably make up for it.

The two-story contemporary by local firm Icon Design Build takes full advantage of the clifftop site's panoramic views, echoing its natural breezes with walls of glass, floating stairs, white plaster walls, and cool concrete floors, with a flow that gracefully merges the interior and the surrounding natural beauty.

Certain touches—a rainwater collection system, metal siding and roof, and a double master suite separated by flowing white curtains—bring a down-to-earth, Hill Country quality to the 4,497-square-foot house, which has five bedrooms and four bathrooms. There's also a spa, an infinity pool, a playscape, and a workshop, giving it a casual livability that belies its sophisticated design.
