Visitors to the popular Hamilton Pool swimming hole in Dripping Springs will soon have to make reservations in advance and pay higher fees, the Austin American-Statesman reported today.
Travis County commissioners voted unanimously in favor of requiring reservations at their Tuesday meeting, the local daily reports. County parks staff brought the proposal to the commission, the story added, in response to a notable jump in the site's number of visitors and increasing traffic issues on Hamilton Pool Road in recent years.
Austin Monitor reporter Caleb Pritchard (via Twitter, but it's solid), commissioners also voted unanimously to add a $10 reservation fee to the existing $15 entrance fee.
Just passed it unanimously. $10 mandatory reservation fee on top of $15 entrance fee to visit Hamilton Pool. #TravCo https://t.co/zpI3LFzZDM
