Austin Rent Comparison: What $1,950/Month Will Get You

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various Austin neighborhoods. Is one person's studio another person's townhouse? Let's find out! Today's price: $1,950.

12300 Riata Trace Parkway, three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment, $1,950/month: These photos are pretty good evidence that decorative pink is back, at least for the purposes of staging at this group of Riata complexes north of Research/Highway 183 near McNeil Drive and West Parmer Lane. This one measures 1,400 square feet. It probably doesn't all have to be pink. Cats, small dogs with deposits.

7811 Manchaca Rd # A, three-bedroom, two-bathroom condo, $1,950/month: Land, lots of land—or at least a fair amount of potentially scary woodland—comes with this 1,776-square-foot condo/partial house on an acre-plus lot in South Austin. Cats and dogs okay.

4507 Depew Avenue, two-bedroom, one-bathroom house, $1,950/month: It's smallish but not tiny—900 square feet—and close to the booming Airport/Highland area (though also to the train tracks). Pets okay with deposit.

1712 Karen Avenue #A, three-bedroom, one-bathroom duplex, $2,095/month: A 1,100-square-foot Brentwood duplex that claims no common walls with the other unit, this place seems bright, light, and full of amenities. Cats and large or small dogs accepted.

The Boulevard at Town Lake, 2600 Lake Austin Boulevard, two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment, $1,923/month: A pretty standard-looking 1,167-square-foot apartment, this is convenient to both downtown and outdoor activities (hiking, river stuff).
