Classic 1928 Hyde Park Bungalow Listed for $799K

Updated plan opens up space but keeps original character

It would be hard to find a home more characteristic of the small, early 20th century houses that make up a large portion of Hyde Park—once a suburb but now a central Austin neighborhood—than this one.

Just listed for $799,000, the house has been remodeled in a way that cuts down on the cramped, rabbit-warren layout that's also typical of those homes, but that looks like mostly a good thing.

The wooden bungalow has four bedrooms and three bathrooms in its 2,2280 square feet. It features hardwood floors and has kitchen and bathroom updates that suit the period without being overly faithful.
