Rental rates in Austin have jumped steeply in the past year, according to ApartmentList's most recent Rentonomics report.
The blog reports an increase of 0.4% between February and March of this year and a 6.7% jump over March 2015.
Median price for one-bedroom in Austin is now $1,180, while the two-bedroom median is $1,500.
Currently, the most expensive local rental neighborhoods are Downtown, Zilker, and Old West Austin. Hancock, West University, and Riverside occupy the least-expensive spots in the study.
Rents increased most quickly in North Burnet, West University (weird, because they are apparently still some of the lowest), and Barton Hills. Overall rent rates dropped in Bouldin Creek, the only neighborhood in this study to gain that distinction.
