"Great bones," as we call houses with classic structure under rough exteriors, are getting expensive around here. It's the norm to see houses in central neighborhoods that "need some work" (and they do) for $900K and up.
This 1966 home caught our eye because it really does look like it needs mostly cosmetic repairs—some solution to the wall-to-wall shag carpeting, in particular—but it's asking only $205,000. It's the proverbial $200,000 house you just don't see in these parts much anymore.
The classic, 1,471-square-foot rancher has three bedrooms and two bathrooms on a huge corner lot. It's north of Highway 183 and south of Rundberg Lane, just west of Lamar, .2 miles from a Lamar Park & RIde station. It has a stone facade and lots of original features, including fireplace.
