Neighborhood Market Watch: What It Costs to Buy in Central East Austin Right Now

What will you pay to move east?

In this ongoing series, real-estate analytics site NeighborhoodX is taking a close look at sales price ranges in different Austin neighborhoods.

Today's focus is the Central East Austin neighborhood, which NeighborhoodX also reported on in April, and includes a month-over-month comparison.

The average listing price for Central East is $345 per square foot, but the properties that make up this average range from $249/square foot (2013 East Ninth Street) to $466/square foot (1178 San Bernard Street).

The properties also reflect the different housing stock of a neighborhood undergoing significant transition—a mix of bungalows along with new townhouse and condo development.

To put these numbers into context, in April the properties occupied a similar range of $268-455 per square foot and an average of $332/square foot.
