For reasons unknown, Red Sox pitcher and World Series champ Clay Buchholz just put his massive Tuscan villa on Lake Travis up for sale.
The 7,421-square-foot, cliffside home has breathtaking views of the Texas Hill Country and the lake. It's also decked out with impressive amounts of ironwork, chandeliers, marble and wood floors, and a billion presumably Tuscan-style wall niches and arched clerestory windows—as well as the requisite dizzying spiral staircase and castle turrets.
In addition, the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom home features a movie theater, huge game room, infinity pool, and sports court. Buchholz grew up in Texas, which might explain the giant Texas Longhorns logo on the latter.
The framed sports jerseys that cover the walls of the top-notch billiards room probably do not convey. But it never hurts to ask.
