Elegant Pemberton Heights Estate on Lush Grounds Asks $4.2M

Glamorous, not glitzy

Set on a lush Old West Austin hillside, this 1939 beauty exhibits some whimsy within its stately design; it is neither faithfully traditional nor iconoclastically irreverent. Rather, the 4,408 square feet home’s interiors flirt with maximalism to achieve a sort of casual richness that’s reflected outside, in the layered, mature landscaping on its .67 acre lot.

There have definitely been some modifications (the barrel vaulting, we think), but the house retains its high ceilings, generous room sizes, original detailing, and abundant natural light. It has four bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, and three living areas, with an expansive back patio that looks out over the surrounding forestry.
