Belterra Village Takes Shape, Unveils Violet Crown Creator Sky Cinemas as Anchor Tenant

Breed & Co., Torchy’s, and Spec’s are also signed on

Sky Cinemas, created by the people behind the Violet Crown Cinema in Austin, will anchor planned 90-acre mixed-use development Belterra Village, according to stories in both Austin Business Journal and Community Impact.

The company plans to bring its brand of luxury movie experience to a 14-screen theater in the development, which is in Dripping Springs near U.S. Highway 290 and Nutty Brown Road, the Journal reported. The theater will offer a full dining menu, reclining chairs, an outdoor beer garden, and wine by the glass, it added.

The project, which is being developed by Crescent Communities and Endeavor Real Estate Group, also announced Monday that homegrown, longtime favorite home- and hardware store Breed & Co. will open a location in the development, the Journal reported, adding that about 85,000 square feet of retail has been secured to date.

Belterra Village will eventually include 200,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, a hotel, medical offices, and a senior living community, with construction on the first phase expected to begin this fall, noted ABJ.

About 1,400 homes have been built in the surround Belterra master-planned community, added the Journal, with 79 higher-density residences planned for the Belterra Village development.
