The 2016 Maudie's Moonlight Margarita Run, now in its 11th year, will take place From 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday. The annual 5K is a fundraiser for the Trail Foundation, a nonprofit group dedicated to protecting and enhancing the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail at Lady Bird Lake.
Those who attend the post-race party (a separate event) can enjoy margaritas and catered dinner by Maudie’s Tex-Mex under the live oaks of the American Legion Hall.
Road closures for the run are mapped above and described below. The city's suggestions for alternative driving routes around the run include North Lamar Boulevard, Guadalupe Street, and Lavaca Street for north- and southbound traffic and West Fifth and Sixth streets, Riverside Drive, and Lake Austin Boulevard for east- and westbound traffic.
There is parking available at Austin High School, in Stratford Drive lot, as well as bus service to the race area.
