Neighborhood Market Watch: What It Costs to Buy in Allandale Right Now

Solid northwest central housing stock

In an ongoing series for Curbed Austin, real-estate analytics site NeighborhoodX is taking a close look at sales price ranges in different neighborhoods. Today, it’s checking out numbers in the Allandale neighborhood.

A northwest central Austin neighborhood, Allandale is much like neighboring areas Rosedale, Brentwood, and Crestview, in that it is close-knit and family-oriented, with lots of neighborhood activities (its Fourth of July parade is locally famous), and boasts quite a bit of stock built from the 1940s through the 1960s.

The neighborhood boundaries are Burnet Road to the east with, Mopac to the west, Hancock Drive to the south, and West Anderson Lane to the north.

The current average listing price for the subset of properties that NeighborhoodX analyzed is $330 per square foot, but the individual properties that contribute to that average range from $196/square foot (5201 Shoal Creek Boulevard, a 1948 build asking $599,900) to $493/square foot (4910 Strass Drive, a remodeled four-bedroom house asking $999,000).
