Hot off the news that a 60-story tower will replace the Villas at Town Lake next to downtown’s Hotel Van Zandt comes word that another tower will soon join it in the booming Rainey Street neighborhood.
70 Rainey, a luxury high-rise condominium tower, will break ground on August, according to a press statement by its developer, Manhattan-based Sackman Enterprises. The 34-story residential building will be 100 feet or more higher than surrounding buildings and will offer unobstructed views of downtown and beyond, along with 164 residences, a restaurant, and second-floor patio bar.
The tower’s outdoor facilities will include gardens, walkways, a vanishing-edge pool and waterfall, a fire it, an outdoor lounge with kitchen and both a yoga deck, and (real-estate buzzword du jour alert) “experiential” sundeck.
All the condominiums will have elevated ceilings, terraces, smart thermostats, and a high-speed fiber network. Penthouses will include private rooftop terraces.
Sackman anticipates a completion date for 70 Rainey in the first quarter of 2018.
