Scandinavian Spaces, a new commercial interior design company focused on workplace wellness, will open a showroom—the company’s first—in Austin, Austin Business Journal reported recently.
The company’s website emphasizes a "commitment to social responsibility, ergonomics and environmental sustainability," as well as its mission to fulfill aesthetic and cultural desires around such commercial and work spaces as offices, restaurants, hotels, and hospitals. The site also notes that all of the furniture lines it works with—which include Kinnarps, Skandiform, and Nordic Care—are designed and manufactured entirely in Sweden.
According to the Journal, the Scandinavian Spaces founders are brothers whose family business is Kinnarps USA, where they have worked since 1991.
ABJ added that the 3,000-square-foot future design showroom on East Sixth Street is currently under renovation, and the company has not yet announced an opening date.
