Street Closures for Blues on the Green Will Be Changed for Last Two Shows

Parking restrictions also increased

The Zilker Park area will see some changes to traffic and street closures around the area for the last two installments of this summer’s live-music Blues on the Green series, The Austin Monitor reported Friday.

For the July 13 and August 3 installments of the popular KGSR-sponsored series, the Monitor reports (quoting an Austin Police Department statement), “signs will be placed in the neighborhoods adjacent to Zilker Park, including all or parts of Barton Hills Drive, Trailside Drive, Kinney Avenue, Garner Avenue, Barton Boulevard, Spoffard Street, Sunset View, Cliff Drive, Linscomb Avenue and Virginia Avenue.”

Ticketing and towing, the department also underlined its intent to enforce ticketing and towing for no-parking violations between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. on days of the events, the story adds. In addition, there will be a designated drop-off zone on Sterzing Street, and paid parking will be available at Stratford Fields and Zilker Park Polo Fields, the Monitor reported.

Those changes are in addition to the standard Blues on the Green street closures (see above map), which will remain in effect during the last two events.
