Rare loft with personality on Shoal Creek asks $450K

Death of the beige

This condo keeps popping up on the listings and catching our eye, probably because it’s not beigey-beige or swathed in bespoke chandeliers. It also has a two-story living area with big windows facing a wall of greenery, which is nice.

On the other hand, it’s right on North Lamar Boulevard, across from Shoal Creek. That seems like it could be noisy, but it looks like it’s set back behind some other buildings, so it’s not too worrisome. Plus: Across from Shoal Creek.

Built in 2007, the condo has one bedroom—upstairs and open-walled, pretty literally a loft—and one and a half bathrooms. The full bath has a big shower and separate soaking tub with lots of eye-pleasing, bright blue tile.

Downstairs in the 1,276-square-foot space is a tucked-away study/office area separated by a partial wall. It has many of the hallmarks of old-school loft-ism, including exposed duct work and wooden ceilings, as well as a barbecue/patio area (possibly shared) and a small private outside sitting space by the aforementioned wall of greenery.
