Highest and lowest August home sales prices

A wide range of costs in 15 neighborhoods

In an ongoing series for Curbed Austin, real-estate analytics site NeighborhoodX is taking a close look at sales price ranges in different neighborhoods. Today, after more number crunching, it has issued a report that consolidates the average and range of home sales asking prices for the neighborhoods it covered in August.

This chart reflects only the neighborhoods the company has analyzed in the past month; it does not reflect all of the neighborhoods in Austin.

For August, the average asking price in Downtown was $554/square foot, ranging from $290 to $1,658/square foot.

Meanwhile, Old West Austin averaged $467/square foot, ranging from $292 to $786/square foot.

In the most affordable neighborhoods, the lowest average asking prices in: Manchaca ($169/square foot), Pecan Springs/Springdale ($215/square foot), Northwest Hills/Far West ($237/square foot), and Dawson ($288/square foot).
