Construction starts on huge South Austin luxury complex

Lenox Springs will have 660 apartments

Construction crews broke ground last week on a project that will eventually bring 660 new luxury apartment units to South Austin. Locally based company Oden Hughes is developing the complex, named Lenox Springs, located just inside the city limits west of the southbound frontage road of IH-35 between Old San Antonio Road and FM 1626.

Lenox Springs will be built in two phases, according to the developer: Phase 1 will create around 400 one- to three-bedroom units that will rent for $1,000 to $3,000 per month.

This will be the sixth South Austin project for Oden Hughes, which develops as well as manages multifamily properties throughout the state. Its Lenox Creekside, Landmark Southpark, Landmark Double Creek, and Platinum Southside complexes are all part of the city’s emerging southern landscape, and from the looks of the company’s website, more are in the works.

The first phase of the project is projected to be finished and leasing in fall of 2017. The company has not yet announced when the second phase will begin.
