Contemporary condos come and go, but those designed by Austin architecture firm Tornbjerg Design are a little harder to come by than your average real-estate offering.
A Tornbjerg home was featured in the AIA Home Tour, and this new build contains many of the same spare but comfortable aspects of that work. It features smooth stucco (inside and out), as well as metal siding, and large windows, sliders, and skylights allow abundant natural light.
Efficient, economical use is also made of the two-story home’s 1,867 square feet. It has three bedrooms and three bathrooms and some lovely features and finishes, including custom cabinets, quartz countertops, contemporary pendant light fixtures, hardwood and stained concrete floors, and designer tile in bathrooms.
Tornbjerg homes’ trademark efficiency is also there, achieved through tankless water heaters, thick exterior walls, and foam insulation. In addition, there’s a covered carport with storage closet, fencing, and a patio.
