Unique vintage Travis Heights home gets $25K price drop

Remodeled 1942 two-story now asks a mere $800K

This two-story, wood-frame house is located just off East Riverside Drive, where the woodsy Travis Heights neighborhood starts sloping slightly upward. Situated among similar-sized, newer and vintage homes on a leafy street, it has received fairly recent renovations, but its exterior remains classic and fits in well with its neighbors.

The 1,945-square-foot home has four bedrooms and three bathrooms. There are hardwood floors throughout, along with arched doorways, a (nonfunctioning) fireplace, and other period or period-style features.

Updates include modern but retro-style kitchen amenities, a new metal roof, new windows, electric and plumbing upgrades, a tankless water heater, and a two-car garage (which is very vintage-looking if it’s the building we think it is). Two cars seems like it would be plenty, since the home is steps from the hike-and-bike trail on the lake and blocks from South Congress—might as well bike or hoof it, yes?

The front living area features a fireplace and vintage heater, which are nonfunctioning put prove nice accents nevertheless.

The kitchen has been remodeled with vintage-style features.

Upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms lead to a deck that overlooks the yard and tin-roofed garage, which would be perfect for a jeans or old-timey truck commercial.
