Mod remodel in Tarrytown asks $1.375M

Home built in 1972 remade as contemporary classic

The impressive transformation of this Tarrytown home into a lovely, light-filled contemporary makes it pretty difficult to discern that the original house was built in 1972. Now flat-roofed, multilevel, and multi-planed, it looks super from the street—which is reached from the front of the house by a mod metal bridge that makes a culvert in front house an asset.

Metal, stucco, and Ipe are the primary materials that telegraph the house’s new contemporary style. Indoors, there are honed travertine tile and walnut floors throughout the home, while glass-paneled doors and skylights let in natural light throughout the open floor plan.

The 3,264-square-foot home has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, with a private pool and patio area in back.
