If you can’t make it to Houston, that is

Okay, admittedly, if you’re not already Houston-bound (because there’s this really huge sports event happening there this weekend) or setting up the solo cups and crock pot full of Velveeta and Rotel, at this point you’re going to have to work with what you have when it comes to creating the perfect media room for watching Super Bowl 51 on Sunday.

You can find some great tips for festive Game Day Decor, even with a time crunch, here (football joke: It’s all about clock management).

Nevertheless, we all know a good sportsball party has awesome, shareable food and drink, and—very (most?) important!—a few comfy places with good sightlines for watching the game (because you know that someone in the crowd is going to actually want to watch, at least the first 10 minutes).

Even if you’re working with you have this year, or already have the perfect home viewing area for sports and everything else, we thought we’d give you a glimpse into some decked-out media and game rooms in honor of Sunday’s game. Think of it as some Friday eye candy—or ideas for next year, which you should immediately start implementing on Monday.

Let’s kick things off (heh) with some media spaces carved out and designed in existing homes, all by the longtime Austin firm CG&S Design Build.

Next up are 10 elaborate media rooms in Austin homes that are currently on the market, courtesy of real-estate listings site Estately.
