What does it cost to buy a home in Barton Hills right now?
In an ongoing series with Curbed Austin, real-estate analytics site NeighborhoodX is taking a close look at the range of sales asking prices in different neighborhoods, ranked by cost per square foot, to find out.
Barton Hills is the southwest-central area that runs in that direction from Lady Bird Lake along Zilker Park between MoPac/Barton Springs on the west and Robert E. Lee Road/Rabb Road Rae Dell Avenue and South Lamar to the east, capping off at highways 290 and 71 on the southwest.
The current average listing price in the area is $399 per square foot. However, as NeighborhoodX co-founder Constantine Valhouli notes, “the individual properties that make up this average range from $266 to $474 per square foot."
At the upper end of the range, single-family home 2319 Westforest Drive asks $474 per square foot, while the most affordable property on a per-square-foot basis is 3212 Bruce Drive, an older home on the south end of the neighborhood.
