We’re pretty big fans of Austin architect Don Harris, whose work we’ve featured in both listings and Curbed’s House Calls. Naturally, we were excited to see that there are not one, but two new Harris homes on the northern edge of Hyde Park for sale.
The homes can be purchased separately or as a package. The larger home, Unit A, is asking $869,000. The two-story house measures 2,404 square feet and has three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. The bright, open layout, a Harris trademark, creates lots of flexible space for entertaining, or just living, inside & out; the kitchen/dining area, which has an oversized island and a wall of cabinets, opens to a rear covered patio.
The 1st floor master suite also opens to the covered patio and features a large picture window overlooking a private backyard. If purchased separately, the homeowners association dues would be $90/month and cover landscaping maintenance.
The smaller home, Unit B, has many of the same qualities that make it both open, airy, and grounded at the same time—including an open, streamlined kitchen, vaulted ceilings, concrete floors, and built-in bench seating.
The 1,389-square-foot unit has three bedrooms and three bathrooms and is asking $579,000.
