Vince Young, the former quarterback who led the University of Texas Longhorns to a national championship in the 2005 season, announced the opening of Vince Young Realty on Tuesday.

Young, who originally hails from Houston, also played six seasons in the Nation Football League. Young’s local profile remained high with the 2010 opening of the Vince Young Steakhouse, still a mainstay in Austin’s restaurant scene, and in 2014, he was hired by the University of Texas to promote diversity and community engagement.

From a real-estate perspective, though, Young’s involvement in the new company might not be the most interesting thing about it. His partners, Rick Orr (CEO and founder of RealSavvy and formerly of TabbedOut) and Chad Mize (co-founder of Network Systems Resale), both bring real-estate and tech experience to the table. The leveraging of RealSavvy, an award-winning platform that integrates MLS listing datain a an attractive way that enables easy navigation, filtering, organization and sharing of listings, might give the company an edge as it enters the crowded local field.

Vince Young Realty will concentrate on listings in Central Austin and will develop a charity program in partnership with the Vince Young Foundation. While the company will also be able to tap into Young’s local visibility and extensive Austin network, according to today’s statement, he will be closely involved in business development, and expansion strategy, along with overseeing charitable ventures for the firm.
