Bold, exuberant creativity was on display at Saturday’s Austin Weird Homes Tour, and we have the Instagram photos to prove it.
Founded in 2014 by Chelle and David J. Neff, offers a peek inside some of the city's most unique, artful homes and to meet the residents who created them via a self-guided driving tour.
The tour shines a light some of the people and places that make our city irreverent, sometimes strange, and fun, but it also brings attention to affordability issues that might be driving some of them out; 10 percent of its proceeds are donated to Foundation Communities, a local nonprofit that provides affordable and attractive homes with free on-site support services for families, veterans, seniors, and individuals with disabilities
This year’s tour included 10 fun and fascinating places, from a former Friday Night Lights set set now dubbed RIggins Cabinet of Curiosities to an anarchic art warehouse and aerialist showcase. Next, the tour goes to Houston and then on to New Orleans.
