What does it cost to buy a home in Allandale right now?
In an ongoing series with Curbed Austin, real-estate analytics site NeighborhoodX took a close look at the range of sales asking prices per square foot in the area to find out.
A northwest central Austin neighborhood, Allandale is much like neighboring areas Rosedale, Brentwood, and Crestview, in that it is close-knit and family-oriented, with lots of neighborhood activities (its Fourth of July parade is locally famous), and boasts quite a bit of stock built from the 1940s through the 1960s.
The neighborhood boundaries are Burnet Road to the east, Mopac to the west, Hancock Drive to the south, and West Anderson Lane to the north.
The current average listing price for Allandale at moment is $311 per square foot. However, the individual properties that make up that average range from $241 per square foot (7000 Shoal Creek Boulevard, a four-bedroom, single family home on the market for $724,900) to $384 per square foot (2404 Shoalmont Drive, a single-family home asking $980,000).
