What does it cost to buy a home in the Crestview neighborhood right now?
In an ongoing series with Curbed Austin, real-estate analytics site NeighborhoodX took a close look at the range of sales asking prices per square foot in the area to find out.
While it’s considered central today, the Crestview neighborhood was developed on the site of an old dairy farm by A.B. Beddow in the 1950s and early 1960s and has the feel of an early suburb. Crestview is bordered by West Anderson Lane to the north, Burnet Road to the west, Justin Lane to the south, and North Lamar Boulevard to the east.
The current average asking price in Crestview is $298 per square foot, although the individual listings in the neighborhood range almost equally in both directions, from $203-407 per square foot.
The analysis, as always, excludes foreclosures and short sales, as well as properties primarily listed as development sites (where the value is in the land rather than the existing built square footage).
