4th of July: Street closures

Plan ahead to drive to, or avoid, Austin’s huge Fourth celebration

Expect traffic, traffic, and more traffic this upcoming Fourth of July. Don’t let that stop you from enjoying the fireworks, though. All you need to do is check out the following street and road closures, and be prepared.

Austin Symphony Orchestra's Fourth of July Concert & Fireworks

9:00 AM to 11:30 PM

RIVERSIDE DRIVE

Between Lee Barton Street and South 1st Street

WEST CESAR CHAVEZ STREET

(Partial Closure)

Between Lavaca St and Guadalupe St

Eastbound lanes will remain open between Lavaca and Guadalupe.

This closure will go into effect at 5:00 p.m.

SAN ANTONIO STREET

Between West 2nd Street and Cesar Chavez Street

This closure will go into effect at 5:00 pm. Local traffic will be permitted to access destinations within the closure.

SANDRA MURAIDA WAY AND B. R. REYNOLDS DRIVE

Between Lamar Boulevard and West Cesar Chavez Street

This closure will go into effect at 5:00 pm.

WALTER SEAHOLM DRIVE

Between West 2nd Street and Cesar Chavez Street

This closure will go into effect at 5:00 pm.

MOPAC BOULEVARD NORTHBOUND AND SOUTHBOUND EXIT RAMPS

Between Mopac Boulevard and West Cesar Chavez Street

This closure will go into effect at 5:00 pm.

RIVERSIDE DRIVE

Between South 1st Street and Barton Springs Road

This closure will go into effect at 8:30 pm.

SOUTH 1ST STREET

Between West Cesar Chavez Street and Barton Springs Road

This closure will go into effect at 8:30 pm.

BARTON SPRINGS ROAD

Between South Congress Avenue and South 1st Street

This closure will go into effect at 8:30 pm.

WEST RIVERSIDE DRIVE

Between South Congress Avenue and Barton Springs Road

This closure will go into effect at 8:30 pm.

CESAR CHAVEZ ST

Between Guadalupe St and MoPac

This closure will go into effect at 5:00pm
