ROT Rally street closures and parade map

The annual Republic of Texas Biker Rally has become quite the early summer Austin tradition. Technically, the 2017 rally starts today; a large part of the action takes place away from Downtown, at the Travis County Expo Center.

The most public ROT tradition, however, and one beloved by many, is its parade of bikes (and bikers driving them, of course) from the Expo Center, through East Austin, to Congress Avenue for a rally and general good times.

This year’s parade starts at 6 p.m. Friday, and the rally/party keeps Congress Avenue busy until midnight. The route, closures, partial closures, and a map via the Downtown Austin Alliance, are below. Crowds line the route to wave at possibly to acquire early-onset hearing loss (kidding), so get there a little early if you’re going.

CONGRESS AVENUE

Between Cesar Chavez Street and 11th Street

Parking on Congress is prohibited beginning at 3 p.m.

CONGRESS AVENUE CROSS STREETS (2ND, 3RD, 4TH, 5TH, 6TH, 7TH, 8TH, 9TH, 10TH)

(Partial Closure)

Between Brazos Street and Colorado Street

Vehicles will be allowed to enter and exit parking garages within the closure areas. Cesar Chavez will remain open. 11th will only be closed while the motorcycle procession is loading onto Congress (approximately 8 - 8:45)
