Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various Austin neighborhoods. Is one person's studio another person's townhouse? Let's find out! Today's price: $990.
↑ Ellie Apartments 2900 Sunridge Drive, one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment, 516 square feet, $990/month. Coming in right at the price point, this East RIverside-Oltorf apartment is updated, contemporary, and smack in the middle of the ever-more-popular, close-in neighborhood.
↑ 3901 Red River Street, studio apartment, 400 square feet, $975/month. This looks to be a garage-apartment type of situation, with a front house built of stone in 1938, centrally located in the Hancock neighborhood. The unit has hardwood floors and a washer/dryer.
↑ Bexley at Tech Ridge, 1200 East Parmer Lane, one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment, 780 square feet, $975/month. Located in Far North Austin near tech businesses (Dell being the main one), shopping, and recreation, this spot is advertised as being in a “green-friendly community” and emphasizes its community amenities, including a fitness center, a sundeck with poolside barbecue area, a community garden, and a dog park.
↑ 4901 Hilldale Drive, one-bedroom, one-bathroom house/cottage, 400 square feet, $999/month. Predictably, the Craigslist photos of this freestanding home behind a main house in Pecan Springs/Springdale aren’t the best. Nevertheless, it looks like a decent, compact home with a fenced yard. Washer/dryer included, small pets considered.
↑ 1801 Fortview Road, one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment, 525 square feet, $950/month. Located near Ben White Boulevard in the South Lamar neighborhood, this renovated apartment has stainless appliances, wood floors, and Google Fiber, as well as access to the complex’s dog park and “luxury pool.”
