Another modest midcentury hits the market for $725K

Zilker home with vintage details

The gloriously midcentury screen of concrete blocks is a big selling point fort this, Zilker home built in 1959. The giant carport with slats and bricks and polished concrete and the perfect shade of green helps, though only if one doesn’t think too much about spending a lot of time in the carport (great for parties, though—and it’s advertised as having a good cross-breeze).

Inside is a mixed bag, but the good news is that it looks to be in good shape and is, as the listings puts it, “unspoiled by ill-advised renovation.” The 1,326-square-foot home has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with at least one of the latter sporting a classic mint-green and pink tile scheme (including, sigh, a mint-green tub).

The large kitchen is open to a casual dining area and has been remodeled in a fairly neutral way. The rest of the photos show a home mid-renovation, so new owners would have some flexibility as to style.

In addition to the nifty carport-breezeway and ace South Austin location, there appears to be a well-constructed, corrugated-metal storage shed with windows in back.
