A 17-story student housing complex built by Austin-based Aspen Heights Partners has just topped out. Called Aspen West Campus, it is the first local luxury student housing project the company has completed.

The 464-bed project has already preleased 45 units, 10 percent of the total available, a year before opening—a number achieved partially by Aspen’s strategy of giving VIP status to students who signed up as interested in leasing an apartment there and then giving them first choice of apartments if they went ahead with a lease.

Among the building’s amenities are a sixth-floor pool with waterfall and views of West Campus and Downtown as well as two levels of multiple grill stations.

Apartments feature large windows with contemporary trim, faux wood floors, and exposed concrete ceilings. Open-plan kitchens include stainless steel appliances and quartz countertops.

Since it is focused on the university community, the building has student-friendly amenities such as glass-walled study rooms and an iPad leasing station next door.
