Hyde Park contemporary features an aquatic surprise, asks $1.35M

It’s not ‘Scarface,’ but there is a built-in fish tank

In many ways, this new build has some often-found characteristics higher-end contemporary homes in the central city: an open floor plan, wood and metal finishes, built-in closets with tons of organizational features, floating wooden shelves, amart features, and so on.

On the other hand, we have yet to see (until now, and outside of MTV’s long-retired Cribs show) one that features in the kitchen a built-in aquarium as a central, functional feature.

Located in the convenient and charming Hyde Park neighborhood, the two-story, frame home measures 2,750 square feet and has four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Flooring is concrete, hard tile, and wood, and there are built-in bookcases, high ceilings, recessed lighting, and pocket doors galore.

In addition to the aquarium for exotic fish (no, we don’t know if they convey), which is installed in a column that also contains a wine refrigerator, the home is equipped with smart, multicolored, indoor/outdoor LED mood uplighting that responds to voice commands.

In addition to the fish tank, the kitchen features a breakfast bar, silestone and style counters, a walk-in pantry, and wine refrigerator.

The master suite on the ground level features a double vanity, full bathtub, seaparate shower, and a walk-in closet.

In general, the house is smart (in the tech sense) and energy efficient, with custom landscaping package that includes rock cage columns and other unique features.
