Rent comparison: what $2,500 gets you

Homes for lease, all over town

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various Austin neighborhoods. Is one person’s studio another person’s townhouse? Let’s find out! Today’s price: $2,500.

400 West 51st Street Unit B, two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom condo, 1,623 square feet. This two-story condo is situated across the street from the Charles Alan Wright intramural fields in North Loop. That could mean problems with the fields’ bright lights, but its location behind the fields and some trees at the back of its lot likely mitigates that. It has stainless steel appliances, polished concrete, and wood-style vinyl flooring. The main level has a large kitchen that opens to the living and dining area. There is a private patio and fenced yard in the back.

3300 Doolin Drive Unit A, two-bedroom, two-bathroom duplex, 2,038 square feet, $2,500/month. The combination of privacy and proximity to services and entertainment in the South Lamar neighborhood here looks pretty appealing. The duplex unit is located on a wooded cul-de-sac and has a gas-fueled fireplace, vaulted ceilings, and a back deck.

1409 Luna Street, two-bedroom, two-bathroom house, 1,440 square feet, $2,500/month. The only single-family home on the list, this one-story house in the East MLK neighborhood was built in 2007 and recently remodeled. It has an open-plan living/kitchen area that open to a large deck and outdoor area with great views. The master bathroom has a jetted tub, large separate shower, double vanity, and custom closets.

360 Condominiums, 360 Nueces Street Apt. 2501, one-bedroom, one-bathroom house, 801 square feet, $2,500/month. A Downtown space located in the 360 condo tower just northeast of the Seaholm District, this unit stakes a lot on location and views. It also has old-school/loft-style exposed concrete and an open-concept plan, along with dark wood floors, dark cherry cabinets, impala black granite, and black subway tile in the kitchen.

4705 Rosedale Avenue Unit A

4705 Rosedale Avenue Unit A, two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo, 1,330 square feet, $2,550/month. Located in the central Allandale neighborhood, this two-story freestanding duplex features hardwood floors, granite and marble counters and stainless appliances. It has one covered carport space and what looks like a small upstairs balcony/deck.
