Sometimes it seems like we’re always running, walking, biking, marching, or all of the above in Austin. Then there’s the occasional triathlon-Ironperson thing and all the driving we do.
At any rate, this weekend’s street closures—aside from the very tiny one on West Fourth Street by Republic Square, where the Sustainable Food Center Farmers Market has resumed—are for the venerable 3M Half Marathon on Sunday. This year, the event benefits Girlstart, a local nonprofit that offers year-round STEM education for girls in kindergarten through 12th grade.
Via the Downtown Austin Alliance, here are the event’s street closures and a map (note that there are two sets for two different time spans).
