A South Austin home that cable television channel HGTV designed, built, and gave away in its 2015 Smart Home Sweepstakes is on the market for the third time in three years.
A two-story, detached condo/garden home located in the Zilker neighborhood, the house was listed in August of 2015, shortly after it was awarded to the sweepstakes winner. It sold in November of that year, then put on the market again in June of 2016, selling in September of the same year.
Now it’s back, and it’s hard to see those sales as anything but flips, since by all appearances, it continues to be in good condition and retains its original design (though presumably the television screens displaying the logos of HGTV and other sponsors can now be changed to other channels).
The two-story, 2,300-square-foot home is designed in a modern farmhouse style, with conventional elements such as peaked roofs, Hardiplank-style and wood siding, and dormer windows that have the minimal ornamentation and clean lines of modern style.
Outdoor living space includes a screened porch, a pergola with a grill and dining area, a spacious front yard, and a fenced backyard.
The home has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Interior features include high-end finishes, custom lighting, home automation and Nuvo audio systems, and remote-controlled shades.
